An Se-young wins French Open, extending winning streak to 50 matches

World number one An Se-young secured her third consecutive French Open title and 10th championship of the season by defeating India’s PV Sindhu in the women’s singles final. The match, held at the Arena Grand Paris, concluded with a 2-1 scoreline (16-21, 21-11, 21-12).

With this victory, An extends her winning streak to 50 matches and brings her career international title count to 48, surpassing the previous record held by Indonesia’s Susi Susanti. This win also marks her 11th consecutive victory over Sindhu.

Despite the success, An noted she was feeling physically and mentally fatigued following a demanding European tour. She is currently weighing whether to participate in the upcoming Korea Open in Yeosu to prioritize recovery and injury management, particularly regarding a recent Achilles tendon issue.
