ANA revises Super Flyers Card lounge access rules

ANA Holdings has announced a revision to its planned 2028 overhaul of the ANA Super Flyers Card (SFC) program following public criticism. The original proposal sought to restrict lounge access for members with annual credit card spending below 3 million yen. Under the revised plan, SFC holders will maintain lounge access regardless of annual spending, though those below the 3 million yen threshold may face restrictions during peak periods such as New Year holidays or major vacation seasons.

To manage increasing membership and congestion, ANA plans to expand its domestic lounge facilities at Haneda Airport's Terminal 2 during fiscal year 2027. The airline also intends to implement a user management system, potentially including a reservation system, to mitigate overcrowding.

While the revised policy allows limited access for lower-tier members, the distinction between 'SFC PLUS' and 'SFC LITE' remains. 'SFC LITE' members, who spend less than 3 million yen annually, will see their Star Alliance status downgraded from Gold to Silver, which excludes them from using lounges operated by other Star Alliance carriers.
