Ana Sátila wins gold in Slalom Canoe World Cup C1 final

Brazilian canoeist Ana Sátila won the gold medal in the C1 (individual canoe) category at the final stage of the Slalom Canoe World Cup in La Seu d’Urgell, Spain. Sátila completed the course in 103.85 seconds, securing her first medal of the season.

She outperformed Spanish athlete Miren Lazkano, who took silver with 104.55 seconds, and Czech athlete Tereza Kneblova, who earned bronze with 104.64 seconds. The victory is strategically significant as it provides crucial ranking points for qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The win marks a period of personal resilience for the 30-year-old athlete following the loss of her father in March. Sátila also noted her determination to overcome technical difficulties faced during the World Championships in July, where she faced disqualification and penalties.
