Anac suspends passenger for misconduct on Azul flight
A passenger on an Azul flight has become the first to be suspended under new, stricter disciplinary rules implemented by Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). The individual, who urinated in the aircraft's service area during a domestic flight between Belém and Campinas, has been banned from flying for six months and faces a fine of R$ 17.5 thousand.
Following the incident on September 18, the passenger was handed over to the Federal Police upon landing at Viracopos Airport. Under the new regulations, which took effect on September 14, the passenger's name has been added to a national no-fly list shared among all domestic airlines. This suspension prevents the individual from purchasing tickets, checking in, or boarding any national carrier for the duration of the penalty.
