Anaconda discovered in Lower Bavaria, Germany

A two-meter-long anaconda was discovered by a 66-year-old woman during a walk in the Straubing-Bogen district of Lower Bavaria on Saturday, September 5. The incident occurred around 6:20 PM in an open area between the towns of Kirchroth and Oberzeitldorn.

Following the report, police and the Kirchroth Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene. A reptile expert identified the snake as an anaconda, a species noted by the fire department for being potentially aggressive and biting. Emergency responders successfully captured the snake using a laundry box for transport.

The animal was taken to the Kirchroth highway police and subsequently moved to a reptile rescue station for care. Authorities have not yet determined the origin of the snake or its owner and are requesting that the owner contact the Straubing police inspection.
