Anambra Governor Soludo mourns schoolboy killed in flash flood

Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has expressed condolences to the family of Success Ezenwafor, a schoolboy who drowned following a flash flood near Nibo. The incident occurred when a school bus was overturned by floodwaters while transporting students to school in Awka.

Speaking at the Cathedral of St. Faith in Awka during a service commemorating Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary, Governor Soludo urged citizens to take collective responsibility for environmental safety. He advised residents to prevent future tragedies by managing rainwater runoff, avoiding the blockage of drainage systems, planting trees, and actively cleaning existing drainages to mitigate the impact of flash floods.
