Ancient Theatre of Stratos to reopen after restoration

The Ancient Theatre of Stratos, a major monument of ancient Aetolia-Acarnania, is set to reopen to the public on August 25, 2026, following the completion of a restoration and reinforcement project.

The project, which included work on the orchestra, stage building, seating areas, and surrounding infrastructure, was co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and national public investment programs. The Municipality of Agrinio also contributed by funding the initial study.

The inauguration ceremony will be held at 19:30, led by Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni. The event will feature a musical performance by Theodoros Voutsikakis and Lina Nikolakopoulou, with participation from Alkmini. Admission to the event is free. To facilitate attendance, free bus services will be provided from Patra, Messolonghi, and Agrinio.
