Ancona introduces eight new Conerobus buses to improve public transport

Conerobus and the Municipality of Ancona have introduced eight new Citymood buses into service to improve local public transportation. The vehicles, manufactured by Menarini, are powered by methane and were acquired by the Municipality of Ancona to be used by Conerobus.

The fleet renewal is part of the National Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility (PSNMS). This investment aims to address challenges caused by an aging fleet, which has recently led to service disruptions, including mechanical failures and canceled trips.

Ancona's Deputy Mayor and Mobility Assessor, Giovanni Zinni, noted that the investment follows a period of financial difficulty for the company and represents a commitment to modernizing the service. Conerobus President Italo D’Angelo stated that while the new vehicles improve safety and comfort, fleet renewal is only one part of the company's ongoing improvement process.
