Andalusia firefighters extinguish vegetation blaze on A‑389 and recycling plant fire

Firefighters from the Medina Sidonia fire station, assisted by the Guardia Civil and local police, contained a vegetation fire that ignited in the drainage of the A‑389 near kilometre 33. The blaze affected about 300 m² of scrub and grass and was fully extinguished by 01:15 after three firefighters deployed a rural fire engine and used roughly 3,000 L of water.

Later the same day, crews from the same fire district responded to a fire at the Miramundo biorecycling plant in Medina. They established four 45 mm water lines, applied sand to the burning materials, and declared the incident extinguished at 21:00. A separate forest fire in the nearby Vejer de la Frontera area was also brought under control, preventing further spread.

Both incidents highlight coordinated emergency response in Andalusia to protect infrastructure and the surrounding environment.
