Andalusia to mobilize public land for 3,678 new homes

The Junta de Andalucía has approved the 2026 Disposal Plan for the Housing and Rehabilitation Agency (AVRA), which will mobilize public land to facilitate the construction of 3,678 new homes. The plan involves putting 735 public properties on the market, with a minimum combined value of €124.3 million. Of the planned residential plots, 2,964 are designated as protected housing and 714 as free-market housing.

The distribution of these homes spans all eight provinces of Andalusia. Cádiz holds the largest capacity with 1,102 homes, followed by Huelva (692), Granada (624), and Seville (551). Other provinces include Jaén (237), Málaga (232), Almería (146), and Córdoba (94).

In the municipality of Antequera, local authorities have identified land available for approximately 600 affordable homes. Mayor Manolo Barón noted that these sites are located outside the historical center, allowing for immediate licensing processes. This local initiative aligns with regional efforts to address housing shortages through public-private collaboration and land mobilization.
