Andalusia announces housing aid and seismic repair funds
The Junta de Andalucía has announced several initiatives to address housing and infrastructure needs. To assist with seismic damage in Granada, the regional government is preparing 8 million euros in aid for the rehabilitation of homes and communities affected by recent earthquakes. Additionally, 130,000 euros have been allocated specifically to repair the Jean Piaget Special Education Center in Ogíjares.
Regarding housing accessibility, the Junta is implementing tax reforms and financial support programs. A reduction in the Property Transfer Tax (ITP) is planned for 2027, raising the threshold for reduced rates from 150,000 to 200,000 euros for certain groups, including those under 35 and victims of violence. Furthermore, the 'Garantía Vivienda Andalucía' program has been expanded by 25 million euros, bringing the total fund for youth mortgage guarantees to 80 million euros to help young people cover down payments.
