Andalusian Employment Initiatives Train 15 Seniors in Jerez and 15 Youths in Almonte

The Junta de Andalucía and the Jerez City Council closed the Magíster Jerez programme, a 12‑month employment and training scheme that ran from June 2025 to June 2026. Fifteen unemployed residents over 45 completed alternating contracts that combined theoretical study with practical work, earning two Level‑3 professional certificates – one for teaching in vocational training and another for micro‑enterprise creation. The project was fully funded with a €421,000 grant from the regional employment department and was delivered by the municipal Foundation for Training and Employment.

In Almonte, fifteen unemployed young people under 30 have begun the ELECTROCON programme, which provides the professional certificate for low‑voltage electrical installation and maintenance. Participants receive 840 hours of classroom instruction and 1,080 hours of on‑the‑job training in the Doñana Vocational Training Centre, following a dual‑learning model supported by the Junta de Andalucía and the State Public Employment Service (SEPE). The initiative is part of a wider strategy that currently runs five similar programmes across the Condado de Huelva region to address local labour‑market needs.
