Andalusian employment training initiatives and funding

Overview

Since June 2026, the Junta de Andalucía has implemented various dual-learning and vocational training schemes. In mid-June, the Magíster Jerez programme concluded, providing 15 seniors with professional certificates, while the ELECTROCON programme began for 15 youths in Almonte focusing on electrical installation. To support the green economy, the Ministry of Employment launched a €2.48 million grant for green hydrogen training in Cádiz and Huelva, part of a larger €5.5 million investment targeting 8,500 participants through 2027.

In July, the regional government approved €103,450 for staff training in El Ejido and authorized 100 new technical positions for the Environment and Water Agency, including a 10% reservation for people with disabilities. Following the appointment of Adolfina Martínez Guirado as Consejera de Medio Ambiente, the government also allocated €3 million in IAAP training subsidies for 29 municipalities in Granada.

The Employment and Training Programme saw significant expansion in late July. In Granada, 39 projects were launched with €14.458 million to create up to 700 jobs by mid-2027, including 15 trainees in Lanjarón. This was followed by a further €24 million allocation: €13.8 million for 40 projects in Granada and €11 million for 31 projects in Cádiz. Applications for these salary-backed contracts remain open until 11 September.

By August, the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE) introduced a digital strategy via the ‘saempleo.es’ portal to streamline company engagement. Concurrently, specialized hospitality training continues at the Hacienda La Laguna school in Jaén, which reports a labor insertion rate exceeding 80 percent.
