Andalusian government launches 39 job‑training projects in Granada province

The Junta de Andalucía has started the fifth edition of its Programa Empleo y Formación in Granada, rolling out 39 projects across 30 municipalities. The initiative, funded with €14.458 million, aims to create up to 700 jobs for long‑term unemployed residents by mid‑2027. In Lanjarón, the program will employ 15 job‑seekers as student‑workers and provide additional staff, funded by a €349,058 grant. Participants will receive professional certificates in “Atención Sociosanitaria a Personas Dependientes” and “Grabación y Tratamiento de Datos y Documentos,” matching local labour market needs. Deputy Government Representative Antonio Granados and Lanjarón Mayor Eric Escobedo highlighted the scheme as a tool to combat depopulation, strengthen the local productive fabric, and give residents access to training and employment without needing to relocate.
