Andalusian President Moreno Bonilla faces calls for explanation over Los Gallardos wildfire

A forest fire in Los Gallardos, Almería, killed 14 people. The PSOE and Podemos parties have demanded that President Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla explain the emergency response. PSOE's environmental secretary Rodrigo Sánchez Haro accused the regional president and the emergency minister of providing false information and failing to send alert messages. Podemos cited a three‑hour delay in activating the ES‑Alert system and questioned why the protocol was not used, despite its use in similar incidents.

Both parties are calling for a parliamentary investigation into the handling of the fire, the origin of the blaze – suspected to be a fallen electrical cable, which Red Eléctrica and Endesa deny – and measures to prevent future tragedies.
