Andhra Pradesh leads India in AI and Big Data skilling
Andhra Pradesh has emerged as the leading Indian state in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics (BDA) skilling under the central government’s FutureSkills PRIME programme. Data from the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology indicates that over 153,783 candidates in the state were enrolled or trained in AI and BDA over the last three years, with 108,895 successfully completing certification.
The state has seen a total of more than 434,000 candidates enrolled in the broader FutureSkills PRIME initiative, which covers various emerging technologies including cybersecurity, blockchain, and the Internet of Things. This digital skilling push aligns with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s 'Swarna Andhra 2047' vision, a long-term development plan aimed at enhancing technology, manufacturing, and living standards.
In a separate educational initiative, the state government is facilitating an international professional development programme for 29 'Best Teacher Award' winners. These educators are traveling to Finland to study advanced teaching methodologies at institutions such as Turku University, with the goal of implementing new foundational learning and digital tools in Andhra Pradesh schools.
