Andhra Pradesh allocates Rs 33,485 crore for NTR Bharosa pensions

The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated Rs 33,485.10 crore for the NTR Bharosa pension scheme for the 2026-27 financial year. The funds will support approximately 62 lakh beneficiaries, including the elderly, widows, persons with disabilities, and single women.

Under a new arrangement effective October 1, 9.34 lakh pensioners covered by the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) will receive the central government’s portion directly into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts via the Single Nodal Agency – System for Pension Administration Raksha (SNA-SPARSH) model. The state government’s share will continue to be delivered in cash at beneficiaries’ doorsteps by Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward staff.

Specific monthly totals include Rs 4,000 for elderly beneficiaries (split between central and state contributions) and Rs 6,000 for persons with disabilities. Additionally, the state has issued orders to restore higher additional pension benefits for retired employees aged above 70 and 75.
