Andhra Pradesh NTR Bharosa pension administration

Overview

The Andhra Pradesh government initiated a process to expand the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme by opening a window for new applications from September 7 to September 16, 2026. The application period targeted elderly persons, widows, and individuals with disabilities, utilizing online registration and e-KYC verification followed by departmental checks.

By late September, the state announced an allocation of Rs 33,485.10 crore for the 2026-27 financial year to support approximately 62 lakh beneficiaries. A new distribution model was established for October 1, where 9.34 lakh pensioners under the National Social Assistance Programme will receive central government portions directly into Aadhaar-linked accounts via the SNA-SPARSH model, while the state share will be delivered in cash at beneficiaries’ doorsteps.

The scheme includes monthly totals of Rs 4,000 for elderly beneficiaries and Rs 6,000 for persons with disabilities, alongside restored pension benefits for certain retired employees.
