Andhra Pradesh and Telangana face rain and potential cyclone development

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are expected to experience rain and thunderstorms due to weather changes over the Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings for thunderstorms, lightning, and strong surface winds in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. In Telangana, northern and eastern districts such as Adilabad and Nirmal are likely to see isolated rainfall.

Looking ahead, a cyclonic circulation is predicted to form over the North Andaman Sea around October 12, potentially creating a low-pressure area by October 13. This system may strengthen into a depression or a cyclone over the South and Central Bay of Bengal by October 15. If the system moves toward the Andhra Pradesh coast, coastal areas could face heavy to very heavy rainfall. Authorities have advised farmers to remain cautious and urged fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea due to rough conditions.
