Andhra Pradesh approves major AI data centre projects in Visakhapatnam
The Andhra Pradesh government has approved two major data centre projects in the Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts, representing a combined proposed investment of ₹1.44 lakh crore with a total capacity of 1,486 MW.
One project, proposed by AM AI Factory (Vizag) Private Limited, involves a ₹31,387 crore investment for a 512 MW green integrated AI data centre in Amanam village. The facility is expected to create up to 1,000 jobs and has been granted a two-year and four-month timeline for completion. Incentives include a 10% capital subsidy on machinery and stamp duty exemptions.
A second project by Data Centre Holdings India LLP involves a ₹58,743 crore investment for a 486 MW facility in Jagnadhapuram. This project includes land allotments at a discount, electricity duty exemptions for 20 years, and a ₹1 per unit power discount for 15 years. The state is also providing infrastructure support, including road connectivity and water supply, to facilitate these large-scale digital infrastructure developments.
