Andhra Pradesh Defence Hub Launch Boosts Indigenous Energetics Production
Agneyastra Energetics, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Kalyani Strategic Systems (Bharat Forge), inaugurated a ₹1,500‑crore, 1,000‑acre defence manufacturing campus near Madakasira in Sri Sathya Sai district, Andhra Pradesh. The integrated facility will produce advanced energetics, ammunition, propellants, rockets and pyrotechnic systems for defence, aerospace and space applications, and is expected to create about 800 direct and 2,500 indirect jobs. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and CMD Baba Kalyani attended the groundbreaking ceremony, emphasizing the project’s role in India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat self‑reliance drive.
In related remarks, CM Naidu urged a “My Nation‑My Responsibility” spirit, calling for economic discipline, a shift to green energy and positioning Amaravati as the country’s “Quantum Valley” with major healthcare and industrial initiatives underway. Both the hub and the policy push aim to reduce reliance on imports and strengthen India’s strategic industrial capabilities.
