Andhra Pradesh faces political row over teacher recruitment allegations

Political tensions are rising in Andhra Pradesh following allegations of irregularities in the District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment process. YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has criticized Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, claiming the alleged scam shatters the faith of aspirants who have invested significant time and resources into competitive exams. Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe and the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, citing instances where candidates allegedly bypassed verification stages.

In response to political unrest, Chief Minister Naidu has ordered legal action against private coaching centres that allegedly pressure students to participate in politically motivated protests. The government stated that some institutions are using aspirants to engage in activities aimed at maligning the administration. Naidu directed officials to ensure these centres comply with the Andhra Pradesh Coaching Institutions Regulation Rules and warned that coaching facilities must not serve as platforms for political conspiracies.
