Andhra Pradesh officials defend DSC teacher recruitment integrity
Andhra Pradesh officials and government leaders have defended the integrity of the Mega DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process following allegations of irregularities. State School Education Commissioner Tamim Ansaria and SAAP Vice Chairman Bharani held a press conference to address claims regarding Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualifications, caste certificates, and the selection of candidates under the sports quota.
Officials stated that candidate eligibility was verified against official records and recruitment rules. They emphasized that while fraudulent certificates will result in disciplinary action, no eligible candidate should lose their appointment based on unverified claims. Education Minister Nara Lokesh supported the briefing, stating that facts were presented to counter fake news.
Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu also criticized the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for making what he termed ‘baseless allegations’ regarding the recruitment. He noted that the process, led by Nara Lokesh under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has been transparent and resulted in the provision of 16,000 teacher jobs. Naidu questioned why YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy did not raise these concerns within the Assembly.
