Andhra Pradesh political parties prepare for local body elections
Political maneuvering is intensifying in Andhra Pradesh ahead of upcoming local body elections. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has addressed seat-sharing tensions within the ruling coalition, stating that seats should be allocated based on the strength of each party in specific areas rather than using a fixed percentage for all partners. This stance follows internal friction within the Jana Sena Party, where members have expressed dissatisfaction over potential seat allocations.
In Narsapuram, Jana Sena leaders have signaled support for Kotipalli Venkateswara Rao as a candidate for municipal chairman. Meanwhile, the YSR Congress Party (YCP) is preparing for the contests, with leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasizing the importance of every vote. Internal challenges have also emerged within YCP, specifically regarding the political standing of former MLA Dr. Sudheer Reddy in the Jammalamadugu constituency.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is reportedly strategizing to limit YCP's participation in the elections by focusing on administrative hurdles, such as ensuring candidates meet all necessary documentation requirements during the nomination process.
