Andhra Pradesh teachers depart for Finland for educational training

The Andhra Pradesh government has sent a delegation of 29 State Best Teacher Award recipients to Finland for an international professional development programme. Conducted in collaboration with the University of Turku, the initiative aims to introduce globally recognised teaching methodologies into the state’s public school system.

During the eight-day programme, which includes visits to Turku and Rauma, educators will participate in classroom observations, visit Early Childhood Education Centres and Teacher Training Schools, and interact with Finnish educators. The curriculum focuses on foundational learning, the integration of digital learning tools, and student well-being models.

Upon their return, the teachers are expected to design and implement school-based pilot projects and serve as mentors and resource persons at the district and mandal levels. Human Resource Minister Nara Lokesh stated that empowering teachers with global exposure is essential for shaping the future of the state, noting that the government will conduct impact assessments to evaluate improvements in student engagement and learning outcomes.
