Andorra implements new housing aid and explores cooperative models

In Andorra, new initiatives are being launched to address housing accessibility and stability. The Institut Nacional de l’Habitatge (INH) and the Fundació Privada Família Cierco have signed a collaboration agreement to create a new line of economic aid. This public-private partnership aims to support vulnerable individuals and families in accessing or maintaining public housing by covering essential costs such as security deposits, utility bills, insurance, and minor repairs.

Simultaneously, efforts are underway to promote cooperative housing models. The association Estaló has been in discussions with the municipality of Andorra la Vella to identify suitable spaces for cooperative buildings. Furthermore, the Minister of Housing, Conxita Marsol, is studying how to adapt existing government aid programs—such as support for first-time homebuyers and incentives for private developers of public housing—to better accommodate the cooperative model.
