Andrea Lanari to lead 25km solidarity swim in Italy
The “Nuotata Solidale Passetto–Porto Recanati” is a solidarity swim scheduled for August 29, covering nearly 25 kilometers along the Conero coast. The event aims to combine sport with social awareness, specifically promoting workplace safety culture and supporting the inclusion of people with disabilities.
Paralympic swimmer Andrea Lanari, who lost his hands and parts of his forearms in a 2012 workplace accident, will lead the crossing. He will be accompanied by his son, Kevin, and former colleague Lorenzo Carnevalini. Additionally, a relay group led by swimming instructor Marco Trillini and testimonial Alessandro Gattafoni will participate.
Proceeds from the initiative will support the Centro Papa Giovanni XXIII and other local organizations. The event was officially presented by local officials from Ancona and Sirolo, alongside representatives from Inail, CONI, and the Coast Guard.
