Andrea Marazzi sets Guinness World Record for narrowest car

Italian enthusiast Andrea Marazzi has earned a Guinness World Record for creating the world's narrowest drivable car. The vehicle, named ‘Panda per Uno’, is a heavily modified 1993 Fiat Panda.

Marazzi spent a year rebuilding the vehicle after discovering a well-preserved model at his family's scrapyard. To achieve the extreme width of just 50.2 centimeters, he performed precise technical surgery by cutting the original chassis longitudinally in half. He then hand-fabricated new exterior panels, a hood, a roof, a trunk, and windows.

The resulting car is significantly narrower than other ultra-compact vehicles, such as the Tango Hybrid Narrow Car, which measures 99 centimeters, and even narrower than a standard Vespa Primavera 50 scooter, which has a width of 73.5 centimeters. The original Fiat Panda had a factory width of 146 centimeters, meaning Marazzi reduced its size to approximately one-third of its original volume.
