Andrew Lloyd Webber to release new Phantom of the Opera mix

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the West End musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber is releasing a new version of the original cast recording titled ‘The Andrew Lloyd Webber 2026 Mix’. Using the original 1986 analog master tapes recorded at Abbey Road, the new mix aims to provide enhanced clarity and detail to the performances of Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, and the late Steve Barton.

The release will include previously unreleased sections that were cut from the original due to time constraints, as well as rare material from Webber’s personal archives, such as the ‘Andrew’s Phantom Demo’ and the original ‘Masquerade’ demo.

The album will be available on streaming, CD, and vinyl formats on November 6. For collectors, a limited edition 6-LP box set will be released on November 20, containing 2,026 copies. This set includes the 2026 mix, the original film soundtrack, and the ‘Masquerade’ orchestral score.
