Andrew Scott drama Elsinore to premiere at Athens Film Festival

The biographical drama ‘Elsinore’, starring Andrew Scott, is set to have its Greek premiere as the closing film of the 32nd Athens International Film Festival on October 11, 2026. Directed by Simon Stone, the film previously won the International Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film depicts the final months of British actor Ian Charleson, known for ‘Chariots of Fire’, as he faced an illness while performing Hamlet at London’s National Theatre in 1989. Scott portrays Charleson’s confrontation with mortality, while Olivia Colman stars as a doctor providing support during the epidemic.

In Australia, STUDIOCANAL has announced a cinema release date of January 28, 2027, accompanied by the release of a new trailer and poster.
