Šabac opens Europe's first humanoid robot factory
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has inaugurated the first humanoid robot factory in Europe, located in Šabac. The facility is a partnership between the Chinese company Minth Group and AGIBOT. The initial investment for this first phase is 20 million euros, with plans to employ approximately 200 people.
The factory will produce humanoid robots and robotic dogs equipped with artificial intelligence, multimodal perception systems, and tactile sensors. These machines are designed for various applications, including industrial tasks like loading and unloading hazardous materials, as well as domestic assistance for the elderly and carrying food or water. Vučić announced that the first military application of these robots, including models equipped with weapons, will be presented within 15 days to strengthen the Serbian Army.
Looking ahead, the project aims for a massive expansion. A future robotics industrial park is planned for Inđija with a total investment of 200 million euros. Once completed, the combined production capacity is expected to reach up to 20,000 humanoid robots and robotic dogs annually, targeting markets across Europe and the world.
