Balkan leaders react to state-honored funeral of Ratko Mladić
The state-supported funeral of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić in Belgrade has triggered significant political repercussions across the Balkans. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the HSS party has raised concerns regarding public contracts awarded to Digitalni ozon, a company owned by Darko Mladić, the son of Ratko Mladić. The company reportedly received multiple contracts from the University of Mostar for IT and navigation services, totaling significant sums despite having only one employee.
Additionally, Croatian Parliament President Gordan Jandroković warned that Serbia may face reduced support for its EU accession negotiations if it continues on a political path that honors convicted war criminals.
