Andrés Watson endorses Axel Kicillof for 2027 presidency

Andrés Watson, the mayor of Florencio Varela, has formally endorsed Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof as a presidential candidate for Peronism in the 2027 elections. Speaking at the ‘Derecho al Futuro’ national plenary in Avellaneda, Watson stated that Kicillof ‘sets the course’ for recovering Argentina through work, health, education, and public works.

Watson criticized the current administration of President Javier Milei, describing the national government's economic model as one of ‘planned poverty.’ He noted that his local administration is managing the social consequences of national policies, including rising homelessness, factory closures, and job losses. Additionally, Watson highlighted a significant debt owed by the national government to the Province of Buenos Aires, estimated at nearly 29 trillion pesos.
