Andrzej Poczobut highlights Polish minority rights in Belarus

Journalist and former political prisoner Andrzej Poczobut is conducting a series of lectures at Polish universities to highlight the situation of the Polish minority in Belarus. During a recent meeting at the University of Łódź, Poczobut discussed the challenges facing Polish education and the Union of Poles in Belarus following the wave of repression in 2021.

Poczobut noted that while the activities of the Union of Poles have been severely restricted compared to pre-2020 levels, the organization’s survival is a significant achievement amidst the collapse of other political parties and trade unions in the country. He intends to continue his academic tour to discuss history and politics in post-Soviet states.
