Andy Burnham to open a No 10 North office in Manchester

Andy Burnham, the leading Labour candidate to become the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has confirmed plans to establish a "No 10 North" office in Manchester. According to BBC News, the new centre will be part of his strategy to redistribute power across the country, which he describes as "the biggest rebalancing of power our country has ever seen".

Burnham, who grew up in Merseyside and served as Manchester’s mayor for nearly a decade, says the Manchester site will consolidate influence in England’s second‑largest city. If Labour selects him as leader, he could be sworn in as Prime Minister in early‑to‑mid July; a contested leadership would delay his swearing‑in until after the Parliament’s summer recess, likely in September.
