Anže Logar outlines priorities for Slovenia's Ministry of Economy

Slovenian Minister of Economy, Labour and Sport, Anže Logar, presented the priorities and initial findings of his team following their first 100 days in office. The ministry is focusing on improving economic competitiveness, reducing administrative burdens, and supporting innovation, youth, and sports.

Logar highlighted the challenges inherited from the previous administration, specifically noting a difficult public financial situation and delays in implementing European Union directives. He warned that these delays could lead to lawsuits from the European Commission and stated that the ministry aims to resolve these issues by the end of the year.

Key legislative actions mentioned include a new Companies Act, which introduces options for issuing shares with multiple voting rights and raises sustainability reporting thresholds, as well as proposed changes to scholarship regulations to reduce bureaucracy. The minister emphasized a pragmatic approach to legislation, aiming to minimize bureaucracy and ensure that the implementation of EU standards respects the specificities of the Slovenian economy.
