ANFP announces match suspensions and player registration updates
The ANFP has announced several scheduling changes and resolutions within South American football. In Argentina, defender Marcos Rojo has successfully secured his registration with Estudiantes de La Plata. After an initial refusal by the AFA, Rojo personally intervened to resolve administrative hurdles, with assistance from Racing, allowing him to be eligible for both the local tournament and the Copa Libertadores.
In Chile, heavy rains and mudslides in Las Condes have forced the suspension of the match between Universidad Católica and Audax Italiano at the Claro Arena. This suspension leaves Universidad Católica with a significant gap in their competitive schedule. Additionally, the ANFP has rescheduled the second half of the Copa Chile match between Colo Colo and Deportes Puerto Montt, which was interrupted by weather, to be played on October 20.
Meanwhile, Colo Colo remains the leader of the Chilean Primera División, maintaining a 12-point advantage ahead of their closest competitors as they prepare for upcoming league fixtures.
