Copa Chile: Colo Colo vs Puerto Montt suspension

Overview

In the Copa Chile quarterfinals, Colo Colo secured a 1-0 victory against Deportes Puerto Montt in the first leg at Chinquihue stadium, with Lautaro Pastrán scoring a header in stoppage time. The win provided Colo Colo with an advantage heading into the second leg at the Estadio Monumental David Arellano.

The second leg at the Estadio Monumental was suspended during halftime due to heavy rainfall in the Metropolitan Region. At the time of the suspension, Colo Colo held a 1-0 lead in the match via an 11th-minute goal by Javier Correa, resulting in a 2-0 aggregate advantage. The suspension led to scrutiny for Colo Colo, as the organizing club, regarding pitch conditions.

The ANFP has officially scheduled the resumption of the match for Tuesday, October 20, at 18:00 at the Estadio Monumental. The winner of this series will advance to the semifinals to face O’Higgins. Amidst broader scheduling changes and weather-related disruptions in Chilean football, Colo Colo currently maintains a 12-point lead in the Chilean Primera División.
