Angola expands agricultural exports to China and seeks Brazilian investment

Angola is expanding its agricultural export reach and seeking international investment to diversify its economy. China has officially authorized the entry of Angolan gindungo (chili pepper) into its market, providing a significant opportunity for local producers to access the large Asian consumer base. This follows recent progress in phytosanitary protocols with the Netherlands, which facilitated avocado exports from Huambo.

Simultaneously, Angola and Brazil are advancing negotiations for a productive agricultural investment program. Angola has made 800,000 hectares of land available to Brazilian entrepreneurs to leverage the country's 30 million hectares of arable land. While the Brazilian National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) is monitoring the ongoing negotiations, the Angolan Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Isaac dos Anjos, has expressed urgency in finalizing these partnerships to stimulate national production.
