Angola pushes maritime industry growth and announces Doing Business Angola 2026 conference
Angolan State Minister for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, called on national entrepreneurs and international investors to pioneer a domestic maritime industry that can generate wealth, jobs and diversify the economy. Speaking at the National Maritime Labour Conference in Moçâmedes, he highlighted Angola’s 1,650 km Atlantic coast, strategic ports and potential in fishing, energy and logistics, while noting that shipbuilding, equipment manufacturing, aquaculture and specialised services remain under‑developed. He urged greater training, certification and research, and pointed to the recent implementation of the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 as a framework for better worker protection.
Tickets are now available for the fourth edition of the Doing Business Angola forum, scheduled for 15 July 2026 at the EPIC SANA Lisboa Hotel. The event will bring together Angolan and Portuguese business leaders, investors, policymakers and experts to discuss investment, economic diversification, energy, infrastructure, banking, innovation and the role of the private sector in sustainable growth.
