Angola advances water infrastructure and seeks Spanish investment

Angola is advancing several economic and infrastructural initiatives. The President has authorized a simplified procurement process to reinforce water supplies in Huambo province through the Huambo Water and Sanitation Company. This emergency program includes technical and financial coordination services and involves companies such as ACQUACORP, SINOHIDRO, IMBONO ANGOLA, and Dar Al-Handasah Consultants.

In diplomatic and commercial efforts, the Angolan Ambassador to Spain, Balbina Malheiros Dias da Silva, met with the Madrid Business Club (CEM). The delegation expressed interest in investing in Angola, specifically targeting clean energy, information technology, digital marketing, and tourism. Discussions included the possibility of a prospecting visit to help Spanish investors identify local business opportunities.

Additionally, discussions at the Angola Hub Transport & Logistics Summit 2026 highlighted the importance of strategic planning for transport infrastructure. Industry representatives noted that the Angolan transport sector is undergoing a transformation driven by technological innovation, infrastructure modernization, and the need for better integration between road, rail, air, and maritime networks.
