ANID and Fulbright open doctoral scholarship applications for Chileans

The National Research and Development Agency (ANID) and the Fulbright Commission have opened applications for the BIO Fulbright-ANID Doctoral Scholarships. This program allows Chilean citizens to pursue doctoral studies at prestigious universities in the United States, specifically targeting individuals who may lack sufficient English proficiency.

To promote social mobility and equal opportunity, applicants must meet at least two of three specific socioeconomic criteria: graduating from a state-subsidized or scholarship-based high school, having financed undergraduate studies through loans due to economic hardship, or having parents with an education level of high school completion or lower.

The program includes a one-year English language leveling course to prepare scholars for their academic pursuits abroad. Applications are open until September 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM Chilean time.
