Anika Nilles joins Rush for world tour

Drummer Anika Nilles has embarked on a world tour with Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. After being discovered by Lee on YouTube, the German-born musician was invited to Toronto last year to rehearse the band's complex catalog.

Nilles spent a year preparing 40 challenging classics, working to capture the essence of the late Neil Peart's style while adapting her own technique. Following the first four shows of the tour in Los Angeles, Nilles expressed feeling energized and relieved by the positive reception from fans.
