Anika Nilles recovers from drumstick mishap during Rush concert

During the first night of Rush’s ‘Fifty Something’ reunion tour in San Antonio on September 24, drummer Anika Nilles successfully managed a technical mishap during a performance at the Frost Bank Center.

While performing the complex drum fill section of ‘Tom Sawyer,’ Nilles lost a drumstick, which flew out of her hand. She was able to immediately replace it with another stick without interrupting the performance. Band members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson appeared to offer full support during the moment. Fans attending the show and watching video footage online praised Nilles for her quick reaction time and seamless recovery.
