Latin American regions launch animal health and vaccination campaigns

Various municipalities and animal welfare organizations across Latin America are conducting campaigns for pet vaccination, sterilization, and adoption to promote public health and animal welfare.

In Brazil, several cities are launching rabies vaccination drives. João Pessoa is holding a 'Dia D' to increase coverage, while Palmas has scheduled a vaccination day following a confirmed rabies case in a local dog. In São Gonçalo, 65 locations are offering free vaccinations, and the North Zone is hosting a large-scale campaign. Anápolis has also resumed vaccination services at local universities and zoonosis units.

In Argentina, the Hogar Animal Jáchal is urgently seeking adopters for 39 dogs before its shelter relocates to Tamberías. Other regions, including Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, Tolhuin, and Rawson, are providing free services such as rabies vaccination, deworming, and sterilization. In some areas, veterinary professionals report that these continuous efforts are helping to reduce the number of stray animals on public streets.

In Mexico, sterilization campaigns are being implemented in Ahuatempan and other regions to control animal overpopulation and support responsible adoption efforts. In Uruguay, the Maldonado region has scheduled free sterilization sessions for September.
