Mexico animal welfare initiatives launch sterilization and vaccination campaigns

Various animal welfare initiatives are being launched across different regions in Mexico to promote pet health and control overpopulation through sterilization and vaccination services.

In Querétaro, the Secretariat of Animal Welfare is hosting a welfare fair in the Historic Center on August 23. The event offers free services including sterilization by appointment, microchipping, rabies vaccinations, and responsible adoption assistance. To date, the municipality has performed over 16,000 sterilizations and provided more than 52,000 services to citizens.

The Dirección de Atención y Bienestar Animal (DABA) is conducting a free sterilization campaign on August 22 and 23 at specific locations, including a secondary school in the Juárez-Casas Grandes area. Residents must register via the official website and meet specific health requirements for their pets.

In Coahuila, the association Esterilizados A. C. is organizing the ‘Perrunners’ walk on August 23 at Bosque Urbano. The event aims to raise funds to remodel their surgical theater, which will allow them to resume high-capacity sterilization and vaccination campaigns in Saltillo, Ramos Arizpe, and Arteaga.
