Animal X reunites for special performance at Untold 2026 festival
The prominent Romanian pop group Animal X reunited for a special performance at the Untold 2026 festival in Cluj-Napoca. Performing on the main stage during the night of August 9–10, the band played their early 2000s hits to tens of thousands of attendees.
Member Șerban Copoț stated that the performance was an event-based concert rather than a permanent return to the music industry. The reunion was notable for the return of Alexandru Salaman (Șopârlă), who had lived in Tenerife, Spain, for over a decade and had been away from the Romanian music scene. Additionally, member Laurențiu Penca (Vierme) has transitioned into the construction and interior design business.
During the reunion, the members noted that despite the passage of time, the connection with the audience remained strong. Copoț remarked that the crowd's ability to sing the lyrics confirmed a lasting bond between the band and the generations that grew up with their music.
