Animate La Chic Fukuoka Tenjin opens as Kyushu's largest anime store

Animate La Chic Fukuoka Tenjin officially opened on October 24, 2026, located on the 8th floor of the La Chic Fukuoka Tenjin building, directly connected to Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station. The new facility is the largest Animate store in the Kyushu region, featuring a sales floor four times larger than the previous location at Fukuoka Parco.

The store introduces several regional debuts, including the “Animate Latte” cafe, the “Space A la mode” apparel and goods area, and the “CyConveni” official shop for Cygames content. Additionally, a dedicated exhibition space called “Space Galleria FUKUOKA” is scheduled to open on November 20, 2026, marking the brand's first expansion of this type into Kyushu.

An opening ceremony featured voice actor Kisho Taniyama, who provides the voice for Chuuya Nakahara in “Bungo Stray Dogs.” The event included remarks from executives of Iwataya Mitsukoshi and Animate Co., Ltd., celebrating the store's role in supporting the local anime community.
