Animate retail expansion in Fukuoka

Overview

Animate is expanding its presence in Fukuoka through the launch of new specialized retail locations. In late 2026, the company announced the opening of ‘Animate Fukuoka ANNEX’ on November 2, a concept store located in the Fukuoka Parco main building designed specifically for hosting anime, comic, and game exhibitions and events.

Additionally, Animate Holdings scheduled the opening of ‘Animate Lasic Fukuoka Tenjin’ for October 24, 2026. This location is noted as the largest Animate store in the Kyushu region. The launch includes various promotional activities, such as a partnership with Niwaka Senbei, a participatory ‘Oshi Menta’ project, and a promotional ambassadorship by VTuber Juufuutei Raden from the hololive ReGLOSS group.

On October 24, 2026, the Lasic Fukuoka Tenjin location officially opened on the 8th floor of the La Chic Fukuoka Tenjin building, connected to Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station. The new facility features a sales floor four times larger than the previous Fukuoka Parco location and introduces regional debuts such as the ‘Animate Latte’ cafe, the ‘Space A la mode’ area, and the ‘CyConveni’ official shop for Cygames content. An opening ceremony featured voice actor Kisho Taniyama.

Further expansion includes the scheduled opening of ‘Space Galleria FUKUOKA’, a dedicated exhibition space, on November 20, 2026, marking the brand’s first expansion of this type in Kyushu.
