Anis Kalajdžić on trial in Mostar for murder of Aldina Jahić

The cantonal court in Mostar began the main hearing in the criminal case against 34‑year‑old Anis Kalajdžić, charged with the premeditated murder of 32‑year‑old Aldina Jahić. He faces a combined indictment for “severe murder of a female person” together with illegal acquisition, possession and sale of a firearm, and an aggravated offence of threatening personal safety.

Evidence presented includes an audio recording in which Kalajdžić allegedly threatened Aldina, saying “Bićeš moja ili ničija” (You will be mine or no one’s). The prosecution also introduced material evidence and testimony from Aldina’s family, who wore shirts bearing the slogan “Pravda za Aldinu” (Justice for Aldina). The court has merged this case with a separate proceeding alleging systematic intimidation of Kalajdžić’s former partner, Naida Matić.

If convicted, Kalajdžić could receive up to 45 years in prison. The trial is being closely followed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a landmark femicide prosecution.
